Hunters for the Hungry held their annual Clean Out Your Freezer Day across the state on Sunday, August 18, 2024. The annual event is a collection where anyone can drop-off all frozen goods that have been properly packaged and labeled at several drop-off locations. The main Baton Rouge location at the Bowie Outfitters on Perkins Road is where a truck from the Baton Rouge Food Bank collects all of the donations from the area drop-offs. Last year, 2023, saw a record collection of 21,881 pounds of food.
