Flights in New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Lafayette are all canceled Wednesday afternoon and evening as Hurricane Francine barrels toward Louisiana's coast.
The Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport and Lafayette Regional Airport's flight trackers all indicate that flights after noon Wednesday are canceled, with some additional flights canceled Thursday morning.
MSY will remain open unless conditions become unsafe, the airport said on its website.
Passengers with travel scheduled this week are advised to check directly with their airlines for the latest flight information.
Hurricane Francine is expected to make landfall at around sunset Wednesday near Morgan City as a Category 1 hurricane with 90 mph winds.
The storm is forecasted to continue moving northeast into southern Mississippi by late Wednesday and early Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
As of 2 p.m., the storm was about 80 miles southwest of Morgan City.
