The Saints had to play without super utility offensive player Taysom Hill, who was declared out prior to the game because of the chest injury he suffered last week against the Dallas Cowboys.

According to a FOX Sports report, Hill suffered a bruised lung last week. He was officially questionable on the final injury report of the week after participating on a limited basis in practice Thursday and Friday, but he could not go.

New Orleans could’ve really used Hill as a short-yardage option against Philadelphia. The Saints faced six situations where they needed three or fewer yards to convert on third or fourth down. They went 2-for-6 in those situations, including a fourth and 1 they failed to convert from the Eagles 18-yard line in the fourth quarter.

In his career, Hill has converted a first down on 51 of his 73 rushing opportunities when needing three or fewer yards on third or fourth down, a 69.9 % success rate.

With Hill out, undrafted rookie free agent Dallin Holker was active, but he did not appear in the game.
