A national franchised soda chain is expected open its first location in Louisiana when it opens in The Forum shopping center in Lafayette.
Swig, which has become popular on TikTok for its variations of carbonated beverages known as dirty sodas, will move into the Suite 100 in the The Forum next to the site of the F45 exercise studio, officials with Keaty Real Estate announced this morning.
The location will be operated by a Florida-based franchisee and be the latest addition to The Forum, the project spearheaded by Politics owner Derek Curry. Others include a Legends Bar & Grill and a Sneaker Politics store. A Jersey Mike’s Subs opened earlier this year.
Swig mixes classic sodas with a variety of syrups, creams, and fruit purees. Its more popular options include the Dr Spice, which includes Dr Pepper, cinnamon, coconut, cinnamon stick, and half and half; the Cinnamon Cider, which features ginger ale, lemonade, cinnamon, apple, and cinnamon stick; and the Autumn Blush, which features a blend of water, mango puree, apple, raspberry, and vanilla cream.
Swig traces its roots back to Utah and the Mormon community, which requires members to refrain from hot caffeinated products like coffee and tea, reports indicate, leaving the door open for cold caffeinated beverages.
The first store opened in St. George, Utah, across the street from the university now known as Utah Tech. It is now over 80 locations in seven more states with plans to open in another four states.
Keaty Real Estate’s team of Charles Ditch, Adam Angers, Jim Keaty and Alison Martin handled the leasing deal.
