Starting at 4 p.m., Monday, Sept. 9, Zachary residents can pick up sand and bags at the Zachary Youth Park, 1650 Mt. Pleasant Road.
This is a free, self-serve sandbag filling station. Bring your own shovel for filling. Each household is allowed a maximum of four bags per door entrance to their home. Assistance will be provided for the elderly and disabled.
For those living outside the city limits of Zachary, sand will be available at Doyles Bayou Park BREC, 7801 Port Hudson-Pride Road.
