Is Dennis Allen a Kendrick Lamar fan?
The New Orleans Saints coach quoted the rapper’s “Not Like Us” after Sunday’s 44-19 win over the Dallas Cowboys when he told his team: “Sometimes ya gotta pop out and show ‘em!”
So, days after the win, a reporter asked Allen if he listened to a lot of Lamar.
“No, I wouldn’t say that’s on my playlist,” Allen said with a smile. “But my son was with me out at training camp, and so we heard that song plenty of times.”
The Times-Picayune can confirm that “Not Like Us” played plenty of times at Saints training camp in Irvine, California — and, well, everywhere else. Good luck listening to the radio these days without hearing it.
It’s no wonder the NFL wanted Lamar to play at halftime of next year’s Super Bowl, which he’ll do when the game is hosted Feb. 9 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
