The last Mardi Gras ball of the Carnival season before Fat Tuesday’s City Ball is also one of the best. The Krewe of Bonaparte saved its best for the huge crowds of krewe members, friends, and guests that gathered for the Le Bal Du Couronnement 2024 on Monday, Feb. 12.

The lively event took place at the Cajundome Convention Center in Lafayette. Krewe members dressed as characters from the popular kids show, "Saved by the Bell. "We were also Saved by the Bell thanks to Ball Chairman Brady Bell who put us right in the middle of all the excitement.

L’Empereur Napoleon XLVII Edward Krampe III, and his beautiful L’Imperatrice Josephine XLVII Daphne Krampe, reigned over the festivities in exquisite royal costumes. Daphne Krampe’s gown, a serene light blue, covered in gold applique and adorned with sparkling jewels, was especially breathtaking.

The presentation of royalty always includes dancing on the stage and lots of playfulness. Fun, loud and proud can best describe this party. We love the fact that this krewe never fails to entertain.

The highlight comes at the end of the night when Queen Evangeline and her royal court stop by after the Queen’s parade to formally greet Napoleon and Josephine. It is the perfect way to get folks ready for the next day, which is Fat Tuesday. We appreciate you Bonaparte for inviting us to the party. Until next year, thanks for the memories!
